All I've Loved

When you gleam in winter
The cold hand springs its revelation
That I obsess with sorrow
While dreaming of empty springs
Whose waters have encountered
The hiding rue in time-
That all erodes in silence
There's no pageantry in grief

The pale hour of my twilight
With the echoes of my breath
Remind me of the winter
Where discontent entwined-
Me to a hard affliction
That I bleed in lines
Where pens can lord me over
And ink can feel as blood
That rupture in the deepest springs
That awaken all I've loved.
