Alive

I will never fall.
I was born to fly,
High above
A broken sky.

A sky of tears.
Of clouded pain.
A sky of
Terrible disdain.

I will not fall.
I was meant to rise,
Climb up each mountain.
And ride wind-tides.

I will not fall.
I was born with wings.
To reach higher heights.
To rise above kings!

Each speck of dirt
Left far behind.
I'll stay up here
And ride the sky.

Follow each cloud
And their silver glow.
To the stars? The shadows?
I may never know.
