African Americans & Blacks

1865, slavery ended for African Americans
The whipping; The scars; The sit-ins
The screaming; The dying; The sinning
Martin Luther King Jr. died leaving us a
speech of hope
Rosa Parks sat in the front of the bus
because she was tired
Malcom X died leaving us with belief of
black power
Harriet Tubman died leaving belief that we
can get home
139 years ago, More African Americans; More Blacks
risked their lives to give us the ability,
the power, and the heart to stand up for
our rights
Blacks, we shall remember
And Others, we shall surrender our minds
And believe:
Including African Americans & Blacks;
That We All Are Equal!

Tynet Hayes

I am 24 and I have so many stories to share through my poetry. I am a passionate writer because its the voice I don't have in person. Within the words there is a story with great connection to self's emotions. I release my past to get to where I am now; the start over of my life , yet, the beginning of my future! more…
