Acid Rain

My teardrops are like acid rain
When they fall, my heart's in pain
They burn their way into my soul
Corroding that which makes me whole

They rust my heart and slow its beat
Their only goal is swift defeat
It hurts me now, but I know soon
These acid tears will be a boon

I know that it will take a while
For my tears to dry, my heart to smile
Because these teardrops are like acid rain
So surely they will come again.

Zack Powell

Howdy, everyone! I'm Zack and I'm here to tell you a bit about myself. I have a horrible sense of timing and procrastination, so as such, the poems that you read from me will more than likely be written in the spur of the moment. I'm what most people would call a "hopeless romantic". In my poetry, I've shifted from glamorizing the concept of love, which is the basis for a fair amount of my works, to writing it how I see it truly is: Good sometimes, bad sometimes, and mostly ugly. Drop a line if you ever need anything from me! I hope you all enjoy not only my poetry, but that of the other talented poets on this site as well! more…
