A Working Mother's Prayer

Dear Lord, please keep my children safe
They are all in school while I'm at work wiping tears from my face
I don't know if they've made it home, I pray that they're okay
So I work as hard as I possibly can to finish up the day
We've all made it home safely and dinner is now done
We eat, clean up, and do homework; there is never much time for fun
I wish the evenings were longer, I just need a little more time to hug
Kiss and say to them, "I'm so happy that you're mine"
But it's bills to pay and kids to feed, so I force myself to rise
Before you know it, they're boys to men before my very eyes
I give thanks to you Lord on this blessed day
And ask that you watch over my family whenever I'm away
