A Women's Desire
A Women's Desire
I love you, you said.
I love you too, I replied
Then the words died.
Too tired, too used,
Too insignificantly light,
They fused...
And disappeared into night.
If only I'd been a little more demanding,
A little more commanding,
Then perhaps you'd have asked me,
"How can I love thee?" instead.
For I desperately wished
For your lingering kiss
That would uplift my soul
In the depths of the night,
As the wind in the folds of a kite.
I hungered for your breath on my neck
As soft, as light, as a butterfly's flight
Mixed with caresses so bold,
They enveloped my whole
within the sweetest delights.
But most of all that night,
I longed for words
That would tell me
Not only you loved me,
But heard me and saw me.
Words thickened with desire
that said...
Your smell entices me,
Your body excites me
The way it fits into mine
So blissfully divine
There exists no place, no time.
Oh, if only I'd been
A little more demanding,
A little more commanding,
I'd have turned to you and bluntly said,
"Ask me how...
How you can love me, instead?"
