A Tribute to My Grandparents 2014

Walking down the path to my grandparents old home.
I went their and I felt out of place like I didn't belong.
I sat in grandma's old chair.
But she was not their.
I could hear her calling my name.
It just didn't feel the same.
I saw grandpa's old hat on the wall.
The shelf looks lower and not that tall.
I saw the bushes I use to hide behind.
I stood and looked up at the sunshine.
Tears rolled down my face as I remember the years.
When my grandparents would calm all  of my fears.
They loved me so and all of their grandkids.
This was obvious and never hid.
A trip to their home was like going to Disney World.
I would like to think that I was their favorite girl.
But if you would ask the other grandchildren,
they would all feel the same.
The gave us all special nicknames.
I am glad that I took that trip back home.
Although, my grandparents are gone.
I love them and miss them so.
But this this they must surely know.
As they are looking down from up above,
I am still surrounded by their never ending love.
