A Spider Is Watching

A spider crawls along the wall
Watching as you start to fall
A chasm opens, mouth held wide
You find yourself with nowhere to hide
The spider watches as you cry
Wondering if and when you will die
For the spider has seen this all before
Dining on the corpse sprawled out on the floor
Waiting and watching, all in vain
For you have fueled your hate and pain
The spider watches as you wipe your tears
Watches as you destroy your fears
You start to climb, pain as your rope
You start to climb, hate turning to hope
The spider watches, expecting you to stop
But you finally make it to the top
Now of anguish you are free
Now you can actually start to Be
You realize though, that it’s all still there
Waiting to strike, to catch you unaware
Now for the rest of your life,
Two sides of you will fight
And the spider will watch, grinning
For your darker side is winning

Brittani Bowden

My name's Brittani, I'm 15 years old, and I've been writing poetry for the last few years. I have written around 90 poems in that time. Not entirely sure if that's a great feat or not, but I'm happy with it nonetheless ^-^ And, of course, I will be adding and adding and adding and- okay, you get the point- to my "archive" (isn't that an awesome word? :3) of poetry for as long as I live...And maybe even after O_o Anyway, to whoever reads my poetry, I hope you like it and can be inspired by it. Any comments, suggestions, or criticism is greatly appreciated. P.S. I am fairly psychotic >:D and also comletely random. CRANBERRY-SAUCE!!! Anyway, enjoy my poetry :)or not...You're choice. haha more…
