A Snowy Winter Day

I love a winter scene,
With a blanket of a snow on the ground,
To sit in my easy chair,
Peaceful and quiet without a sound.

Hot chocolate on the stove,
Curled up with a book in my lap,
Nowhere important to go.
Almost ready to take a nap.

The snow is so white and pure,
There is almost a heavenly glow,
Then it starts falling again,
A new blanket of pure white snow.

I know it is damp and cold outside,
But inside I am so cozy and warm,
I could sit and watch it for hours,
Because it has such an elegant charm.

But the hour is late and I must go,
For the day is drawing to an end.
The winter scene within my heart will stay,
So I might share it with a friend.
