A Smirk

Wipe off that bitter smile,
Dark and forbidding
I can't stand to look,
It's just too hard hitting.

See, I gazed only once,
But once forever
Eyes too sarcastic,
So furiously clever.

It may seem naive,
Looking only just above the jaw
Stubborn to look in the eyes,
And I certainty won't withdraw.

If I look at you at all,
Be cautious and detect
It's my turn to taunt,
Indifference will always infect.

First impressions aren't serious,
Not even a little worthwhile
But if I have to look at you,
Wipe off that stupid smile.
