A Simple Prayer

As I come humbly upon my knees,
I bow my head, I seek to please.
Hear this Lord, a simple prayer,
Help me also to not dispair.

Thank you God that I can pray,
Thank you God for today.
Not always am I grateful for,
The things for which I'm set before.

But now as I kneel to pray,
Help me be thankful for today.
Another day to draw my breath,
Without it surely comes my death.

Thank You for my family,
And all the things you do for me.
Thank You for flowers and Autumn trees.
For these my senses are so pleased.

Behold the things that You have done,
Help us be grateful for everyone.
As I humbly kneel to pray,
Teach me Lord, the right way.

Help me to be forgiving as I should,
As my sins are covered by Your blood.
Protect my family, this I pray.
Teach them also the right way.

Help them be kind and loving too,
For that is what I know You do.
Keep us safe, away from harm,
Pull us into Your loving arms.
