A Shout Of Rage

My daughter's frantic knocking on the door
And her hurried (almost drowned out) call
To "turn on the tv and put it on Channel 4,"
Woke me--in the morning of Doomsday.
What I thought, I saw--for a second or two,
Was a trailer of a movie: one of the WTC Towers
Was on fire. Like a ton of bricks,
The truth hit me--so hard I fell on my knees...
Crying and shaking.
And what unfolded minutes later--
The whole world, this time...all "tuned in,
"Was a crime to all mankind--
"Live"...so horrific--it is forever seared in memory:
A plane flying into the other Tower. The resulting
Giant fireball and clouds of smoke so blinded me,
I could not see the buildings burning...
Only the dead and the dying--
Thousands of them! And even as I cried praying
To God, I had to let out--
A shout of rage to Satan: DAMN YOU!!!
