A Sculpture In White

Ebony shadows the heavens,
above a sculpture in white.
And the moon enhances the scene,
beaming down its golden light.

Clothed in feathery down,
trees are frozen in time and space.
And donning a crystal gown,
beauty is endowed with grace.

There's no warmth to melt the frost,
or disturb the fragile snow.
And icy laden branches bend,
bowing impossibly low.

Millions of sticky snowflakes
gather and instantly freeze.
And subtle nuances are carved,
by the breath of a sharp breeze.

Silence evokes its own magic,
for nature's artistic skill.
And casts an enchanted spell,
in the throws of winter's chill.
