A Ravage Beast

One moment I am sitting there
Just like any other day
A single word seems to trigger it
Everything turns to disarray
The black entity, it wraps around me
Enveloping my body, my neck, my face
Before I even know what hit me
It’s engulfed my entire space
It thrashes me around violently
I’m not strong enough to fight it back
I wonder what I did to deserve this
What made this ravage beast attack
I take the vicious lashings
And I hope the end is near
As it pierces through my body
And my skin begins to sear
The dehumanizing nature
Of what this demon puts me through
I feel the excruciating torment
And there’s nothing I can do
Suddenly, the voice of someone talking
It slides quickly beneath the floor
But I know it’s just a matter of time
It'll come creeping back for more
