A path lined with sadows (version 1)

Taunting whispers line the road,
I walk in silence on
through rows of trees from acorns sowed
whose youth has long since gone.

I walk between the lines of shade,
the sunlight shimmers pale,
my years are few and young I stride
in fear that I will fail.

I feel their eyes upon me
like restraint that holds you back,
who look so stern and strongly
for a loss, mistake or lack.

The breeze is cold but urging,
like each step upon my way,
as night from day emerging,
it will take my sight away.

The silhouettes that tower,
and the sky now sewn with stars,
remind me of the power
of the men with battle scars.

But still I walk on, daring,
with the sword of youthful ink,
my pen on paper tearing
down the visions that I think

For destiny has called me,
and the gift I hold in hand,
my mind and life unfolding,
when I write I understand.

I feel and see my heart
in lines of pages white
my joy my love my art
within the ink I write.
