A Party for Owl (winnie the pooh & friends)

Piglet and Eeyore and Kanga and Roo,
Christopher Robin and Tigger and Pooh,

Were planning a party to cheer up old owl,
Rabbit arrived with a rather large scowl.

“Did you forget to invite little me?”,
“Of course not - Rabbit!” said Tigger with glee.

“I was coming to get you just after this chat”
he bounced right into the spot rabbit was sat.

“Oh Tigger - you’re just such an annoying pest!,
please… give the bouncing a bit of a rest”.

His smile dropped a little, at Rabbit’s request,
“Don’t you know that’s what we fine Tiggers do best?”

“Enough!” Said Piglet as he gave out the tasks,
“Will there be lots of hunny? - Pooh asks.

Christopher Robin just rubbed Pooh bears head,
“A party without it - is NO party” he said.

Pooh went for hunny… but the bees disagreed,
“Oh pleeze beez” said pooh “I’ve a party to feed”

Christopher laughed and then showed pooh the jar,
“I think there’s some hunny that’s not very far!”

That fuzzy old bear climbed down from the tree
“I think… that’s just enough hunny for me!”

The friends all got busy and set up the scene,
Kanga and Roo made the finest cuisine

Eeyore just moaned “It’ll never be done”
Said Christopher Robin “Oh, join in the fun!”

A clearing was made, a blanket was layed,
a tea set was placed., a butterfly chased.
A bee buzzed around and happiness found
balloons hung high, sun smiled in the sky.
As friends helped out - fun, giggles and shouts
‘Cause that’s what friendships are all about!

“It’ll never work” said Eeyore wearing a frown,
Tigger just bounced and knocked Eeyore down.

Piglet stepped in - “We must plan” he advised,
when Owl stumbles upon us - we’ll all shout SURPRISE!

So that’s what they did - Soon Owl was awake,
“I smell someone - baking a cake”

“Who’d bake a cake in the middle of the wood?
Maybe it’s Rabbit? It smells pretty good”

So wisely Owl took flight to the sky,
to investigate who might be baking a pie

“What’s that in the clearing“- he said, rubbing his eyes,
when all of his friends jumped out, shouting “SURPRISE!”

The joy on Owl’s face was a picture of love
“Why didn’t I spot you as I flew up above?

A party for me - that’s so generously given,
even wise owls are fools - pleeze! - am I forgiven.

There is really no need for an Owl to feel blue,
when an Owl is surrounded with good friends like you” .
