A mother's wish list for her daughter

Now that you are in my life, I look at you and see the possibilities of a great life
I hope through my lessons in life you will learn early that love should be happiness and not pain
You have so much to give in this world
So many talents already developing
But here's the wish list for you:
Be true to yourself and trust your instincts
Keep positive people around you all the time
Help others but don't be used by another's selfish ways
Be kind to others
Be open to different views and cultures
Be confident and not condescending
Have fun in your life
Make time with family and friends as much as you can
Love should bring happiness and not pain
Marriage should involve equal partnership
Independence is great but there are times you need to allow others to help
Laughter is great medicine
Singing, dancing, and great music help with stress
Be sure to balance work life and personal life
Try your best in all you do
Learn from your mistakes
Be there for your family and friends
If you take care of yourself, you are better equipped to help others
Most importantly, love yourself!
It's amazing as I write these words for you
I find myself thinking these are all the things my mother wished for me
I believe I obtained a lot on the list but I still have some things to accomplish
But now that I'm your mother, this wish list is made for you!
