A Little Stone-Blind Schnauzer

Every morning on my walk a friend greets me in style.
A little stone-blind schnauzer
flashes his wagtail smile.

He compensates for his sight with ultrasonic ears.
A little stone-blind schnauzer
listens for bright frontiers.

He gingerly finds his way by following his nose.
A little stone-blind schnauzer
sniffs map-like as he goes.

He turns mishap to his gain through reveling in now.
A little stone-blind schnauzer
corresponds with the Tao.

He gladly accepts his fate and never questions why.
A little stone-blind schnauzer
sees all in his mind's eye.

Every morning on my walk a friend inspires the day.
A little stone-blind schnauzer
makes me his protégé.
