A Last Resort
At the lowest of her lows,
she has stooped too far,
selling pieces of herself
for less than she is worth.
Only for a while,
she reasons to herself,
only until the bills are paid
and her son can stay by himself.
She hopes her actions
won’t ruin the little life she has,
please understand she had no choice,
the control out of her hands.
After entire days of prayer
and months of hopeless whoring,
she finally found a real career
where she didn’t cry for mourning.
