A Lament for Women

Radical they called it, and so it was.
Unbandaged at last,
I'm free of that dread place
where torn to pieces and mended
into shapes I do not recognize
(as good as new)
with things to hide undoing.
(No one will ever know)
only me, lifting to a lover's kisses
holes where I used to be
pink tipped, pointed to the skies for joy.
