A Lake in Hokkaido

I have a picture of us
rowing across that lake.
We both have looks
exaggerating the effort it was taking
to get to the other side.
But actually, I was enjoying the ride,
the relaxing pace.

We rowed in turns.
Wind wrestled with our
early morning hair.
The night before,
we set up the tent
without any light.
Our fingers moving
from routine right.

Shh, and without a word,
we settled into the outdoor bath,
washed our hair, and
watched the wrinkles on the lake,
that we rowed in turns.
