A Journey to Love

Love it seemed knocked upon my door
I slammed it shut, I cannot love anymore
So I traveled through life without meaning or purpose
Walking forevermore no happiness on the surface

Until a day I was face to face with fate
We were walking both in opposite rate
Him going north I retreating south
We ended up face to face, mouth to mouth

Alas neither of us wanted our paths to sway
So we halted dead in our tracks in each other's way
Each of us eye to eye, with no hope of finding love
Tis the reason for both our journeys to this place thereof

“Why does one block the way in which I desire?”
Asked he in front of me, his eyes laced with fire
“Only because I desire to go in this direction” say I
We stood in complete wonder of the reasons we're nigh

And as I gazed into the eyes of the one blocking the way
I noticed his eminent beauty, but had no courage to say
There began to be a feeling of which I'd never understand
There had to be a reason god pushed us to this stand

His expression grew soft, as he too realized why we met
Both devoid of love, we had an invisible goal set
Whether or not intentional our hearts began to entwine
As we stood staring at one another our eyes began to shine

Than he lifted a hand onto my cheek, and with a voice that sent chills
“You must be the reason my heart never wanted to leave these hills”
I too never thought I'd be granted the abilities to love someone to pain
Yet on that day I realized my ignorance, time moves none in vain

Finally our journeys ended together, even though they began blind to fate's intentions
We found a love at last, even if we thought it was one of many impossible inventions
Together eternally bound by fate, I've never been happier that in that moment
On that day I became a believer, now I have an etirnal loves consent

Katie Carter

Well, I've had a hard life growing up, some believe i should have held on to childhood rather than grown up as fast as i did. I may only be 17, but that meens not that i have no life experiance. What i write about often is a subject that is important to me or something i think about often. I am not egotistical and i enjoy constructive critism, what i'm not willing to listen to however is someone saying my views don't count based on my age, because i've been through too much shit to have my opinions taken for granted. more…
