hard and tough
hurt by love
a beaten heart, scarred and scuffed
tired and troubled
she was when discovered
a sooty diamond, just now uncovered
in me she confided
rules of mind scarcely abided
there she entered, and there she resided
here she remains
from pain she abstains
here she lives, in the capital of my veins
