A Farewell

So here we face the end.
Where will you go, my friend?
Will I see you again?
On that, I will depend.

Always remember me,
As I will you, you see.
May your thoughts be free,
and always live to be.

Words are hard to find;
too many are on my mind.
Good friends aren't left behind,
And you have always been kind.

So here we face the end,
And fare you well, my friend.
I will see you again -
on that, you may depend.
