A Different Level

We flew out of Greensboro on the two o'
clock flight to New York, New York. It was
my first time flying, but you were a
frequent flyer by years and not miles. My
favorite part of the flight was coming in
over Manhattan at sundown. The Jet made
such a sharp right, I felt I would fall
through the window into the big apple. You
were asleep by the window, and I wanted you
to be awake so we could share this
beautiful moment in time together. I
wondered if you had scheduled the flight at
this time for a reason. I thought you must
have taken this same flight before. You
said your friend was gay, and it was
obvious that he was. Nevertheless, I found
it peculiar the two of you were behind
closed doors while I camped on the couch.
I was ready to take the flight out of New
York by myself.
