A child comes home!

A CHILD COMES HOME!
A Child has come home today after years
After suffering and shedding lots of tears,
Hoping to get back the love she lost
From the family that had her tossed and almost crossed.

Abandoned by her grandparents and mother
She comes to them now with a bother,
Would I be accepted, loved and gain?
Or be disappointed with this family once again.

Not knowing the answer to her query,
All she knows is to think positive and not be wary,
Leaving everything to the god Almighty,
She hopes to never again face anguish and anxiety.

Hoping to somehow compensate for the lost love and time
She hopes to savor and make every moment prime,
Believing that this family which disowned her before
Would now give back respect, Kindness and love galore.

Accepting her sufferings and anguish as karma of her last birth
She comes to the family to give love and share her beautiful mirth

Bestowing the greatest gift of forgiveness upon them,

She becomes an enlightened soul, whose goodness overwhelms.

ABHINAV SRIVASTAVA

I wrote my first poem while I was studying Statistics for my exams. This was after passing my college when I was studying for my Chartered Accountancy Examination. I wrote to show a person that I can write better words in a poem format then that person. What turned out was a poem which everyone liked. Encouraged I wrote another poem. People liked this one too. But I stopped writing. I thought these people were pulling my leg. But after a year or two I met someone and somehow the words flowed again and I wrote one more. Then there was a gap of few years again. Then the general elections in my country took place. It stirred something inside and I was compelled to write again. I wrote my first poem on politics- The Dileema of Vote. Meanwhile two of my initial poems were kept on poetry.com which were appreciated quite a lot. But I did not write for a long time. Not for seven long years. Then I wrote again when I went abroad and was away from my loved one for a period of three months for the first time in my life. That poem was titled - I miss you. After that there was again a gap of four years before I started again to write. And this time I knew I could write. I am based in Ahmedabad, India. I am working as a Consultant in the Area of Recruitment and Marketing. And I am also a soft-skills trainer.Contact me with your comments on my poems on asrivastava009@gmail.comYour comments will be appreciated and would encourage me to write more.Abhinav SrivastavAhmedabadIndia. more…
