'So Long'

By Rama Devi Mittal

Two words 'So Long'
As you bid goodbye,
to a friend,or a loved one,
Express your desire
to see them again!

Two words that express your pleasure,
You value your friend as a treasure,
Priceless and indispensable they are,
Beyond imagination and measure!

I mean 'So Long' to cover the distances,
Across days years and miles,
When life keeps us busy in daily chores,
yearning to smile or converse face to face,
enliven and share our thoughts again!

Just know "So Long"
Means more than it sounds,
Internal feelings to express,
Care and concern for the one I love,
For all times when sad or in stress
Celebrating succeess or when in distress!
