'04 iop
The ocean could have been so blue
Instead, it was a dark, dark black
The sky could have been so clear
Instead it was cloudy and gray..unsatisfying.
The rain hit my head
Soaking into the deep black.
Smudged make up.
The rain only hid the pain,
Hid the tears...
This face was filled with words,
Of hate, and sadness.
The scars,
They run so deep
They bled so much.
From the inside, out.
A child of so much innocence,
Still hugging her teddy at night
Waiting for her mommy to tuck her in.
But at night, inside...
There is no rain
No rain to hide the tears
The smudged eyeliner shows
Tears of red and black
Silent screams
She smothers herself with the pillow
Make up covers the white cotton sheets
The pain shows,
But it's too late.
