"When Darkness Becomes Evil"

Evil comes in many shapes
but terror is its form.
Held together by our fears,
like darkness brings a storm.

It covers up our moral values,
with the shadows that it makes.
By overriding our judgments,
making us make mistakes.

Putting thoughts across our mind,
we've never thought before.
Working on our weaknesses,
to listen to it more.

But nothing can it do,
unless we hold it in our sight.
Because darkness is not evil,
unless there is no light.

Donald E. Burns

I am sixty-two years old and live in Columbus,Ohio. I was born in Dayton,Ohio where I lived mostof my life.I started writing poetry after my wife of thirty years passed away in October 2000. I was heartbroken and devastated by this.I asked God for a sign to show me she was alright. He gave me more than I asked for. I had a vision of my wife and my grandson who had passed also, that lasted five minutes. It was so beautiful thatwords can't express how I felt. From that, I now write poetry to inspire as many hearts, minds and souls as I can with truthand love. To be written with words that all can understand. It's my thanks to God for what He did for me.I am now married to my first girl friend from jr. high, which is a blessing in itself. Learning how to use the computer for my poetry made that possible. I hadn't seen her for thirty-two years.I even proposed to her with a poem !All things Are possible with God.I more…
