"Our Non Belief"

We all believe in something,
in one way or another.
Not considering our non belief,
affecting not only our lives but others.

We may believe in God,
to help guide us through our lives.
To have faith we'll live again,
when the face of death arrives.

Or we might believe in only ourselves,
that there's nothing more and this is it.
That life was not created
and to this belief our lives we commit.

But our non belief is just as important,
as any belief we hold within.
It stops us from totally believing,
in whatever our belief is in.

Donald E. Burns

I am sixty-two years old and live in Columbus,Ohio. I was born in Dayton,Ohio where I lived mostof my life.I started writing poetry after my wife of thirty years passed away in October 2000. I was heartbroken and devastated by this.I asked God for a sign to show me she was alright. He gave me more than I asked for. I had a vision of my wife and my grandson who had passed also, that lasted five minutes. It was so beautiful thatwords can't express how I felt. From that, I now write poetry to inspire as many hearts, minds and souls as I can with truthand love. To be written with words that all can understand. It's my thanks to God for what He did for me.I am now married to my first girl friend from jr. high, which is a blessing in itself. Learning how to use the computer for my poetry made that possible. I hadn't seen her for thirty-two years.I even proposed to her with a poem !All things Are possible with God.I more…
