Gasoline and Matches

Robert Frost 1874 (San Francisco) – 1963 (Boston)

Gasoline
Gasoline I need
Also a match
To light up the night

It’s cold, dark with stars above my head
So I ride to the store at night
To get what I need

To light up the night just right
I come back with gasoline, matches and a
Ton of chips and salsa
So much for just gasoline and matches

I pour the gasoline on my wood
I light a match and light up the night just right
I eat and get warm in this cold night
With stars above my head

Gasoline and matches was all I needed
Gasoline and matches is all I need to
Light up the night just right

Now it spreads...
To other parts of the Earth...
To cause harm and panic...
And I can’t stop it...
