No easier way

Arpan Dey 2004 (West Bengal)

The life inside
Supported
By a ton of artificial
And inconvenient
Things.

From toothpaste
And shampoo
To medicine…
Oh, it takes so much
To maintain this body.

And it takes money,
Which means struggle.
A struggle
You must put up
Till you die.

Oh was there
An easier way?
It's so inconvenient
To stay alive.
Oh, an easier way.
Was there
No easier way
Than this
To be
Conscious,
But without
So complex a
Body?

Oh, an easier way.
An easier way.
Was there no
Easier way?
No easier way.
No easier way.
No easier way.
No easier way.

The society
Which is always
Against you.
You struggle to
Put up with it.

The powerful
And the cruel
Who exploit you.
But you can't
Even complain.

The crimes
And the lies
With which you
Have to put up
To stay afloat.

Oh was there
An easier way?
It's so inconvenient
To stay alive.
Oh, an easier way.
Was there
No easier way
Than this
To live
Happily
And simply
Together
Always?

Oh, an easier way.
An easier way.
Was there no
Easier way?
No easier way.
No easier way.
No easier way.
No easier way...
