I Promise I won’t Care

I don’t care if it rains on my birthday,
If there are no presents left under the tree.
I don’t care if my ring has a diamond -
All I want is for us to be three.

I don’t need the best seats at that restaurant,
Or a view from my window at night.
I don’t need anyone to say sorry,
Or to hold me that extra bit tight.

When I’ve moaned about soy milk or almond,
When the cashier didn’t smile as I paid.
It’s ok if we can’t fly to Bali -
I’m sorry I ever complained.

I won’t care if my boobs are all swollen,
If I’m too sick to go to the gym.
I won’t care if I can’t stomach curry,
I won’t care if I’ll never be thin.

It won’t matter if you come in summer,
Or if your eyes are hazel or grey.
I will love any name that Dad chooses
Just please, oh please baby, stay.

I don’t care if it rains on my birthday,
If there are no presents left under the tree.
All I want is to have you stay with us.
All I want is for us to be three.
