The Melancholy Curse

One day, I was sitting at the very back,
As I heard a knock on the door,
Entered a figure in clothing made of beautiful black,
The time was just a few minutes past four.
Days passed and years went by,
I couldn’t get you off my mind,
These thoughts made the time fly,
As I turned partially blind.

No one knew,
And you walked and played,
Without a single clue,
As I was afraid.
Soon I came out clean,
But you didn’t reciprocate,
I wondered who made you the queen,
As a consequence, I couldn’t lift the weight.

The beautiful starry night,
Had me carry all the pain in fright.
After being painfully hurt,
In meaningless tears, I burst,
It’s going to hurt me to hate you,
And as my entire world turns blue,
I realize loving you is worse,
And I realize this is the Melancholy Curse.
