Dark

I hear a whisper in the dark
The ghost of stress has left its mark
A creak in the hall,
A thump in the wall
A whisper again-
I hear the call
Of the dark, twisted door
Leading me on to see more
Of what I could be
If I follow it, what will I become?
Will I be strong or will I be numb?
How could I know?
It leads me in the dark.
Toward the deep, shadowy mark
That conceals my fate.
