Refrain from the Pain

Refrain from the Pain

The unpleasant feeling , that sometimes exists
When thoughts and emotions , are inflicted and kissed

We all come to realize , that pain is a fact
When hearts become broken , are ruptured and cracked

Our brain does perceive , the depression draws near
While filled with distress , of sensations and fear

Consumed by the aching , delusions of truth
Emotion , or mental , and physical proof

As time marches on , and the lesson is clear
We must be aware , and somehow adhere …

To empathy's calling , compassion for those
Who's pain is suppressed , and continues to grow

We look in the mirror , our eyes should now gaze
As we find compassion , to give someone praise

Why is it so hard , to swallow our pride
And show someone hope , with nothing to hide

This world it can be , such a terrible place
Of hatred and malice , and constant disgrace

So I ask you now , as you travel this land
To open your heart , along with your hand

The time it has come , for us to be real
And stop all the madness , encourage the heal

I Pray you will find , the kindness and live
With conviction to change , and your heart now will give
