Fire

Jagger Vael Denny 2008 (Fort Worth Texas)

Fire
Walking down the street looking to meet,
My friends are nowhere, looking obsolete.
Around the corner I go watching it transpire,
Looking at the ring of the great big fire.

Men in suits and people with signs,
Not sure where I am but resign where I am I must.
From the position I stand no time to cry.
around the smoke now cornered with “Why?”

I see the way people are wanting their rights,
I see how they are doing but that's no way to fight.
Hearts broken, confusion emitted from the light,
More than ever am I in fright.

Running as I go down the way I have walked,
I cannot say they’re people in chalk.
As I open my eyes walk through my door,
I hesitated but let out the screams on the floor.
