A nation divided by people who provided fuel to the flame
Founded upon a great plain full of the pain our ancestors used to reagin
They say “in god we trust”
yet what god that claims to love all
Would allow such hate to live inside its peoples’ domain
And yet through it all, the hate you bring upon him and her they or them you claim the words:
“It is against my religion, it is against my beliefs
Therefore I shall disrupt the peace
For in my god’s name it is justifiable
I shall live in denial”
“In God we trust”
It's time to make a change
Instead of speaking for all in gods name, we shall now say
“In Democracy we trust”
Democracy is our core value our core belief so we shan’t let it suffer
Let democracy ring free and let it ring right
All should be fair, equal, and thriving
No matter the race, the party, gender, or sexuality
No matter the person, the people, or people’s
Tiss time for a change like the flow of a river
Tis time for anew
Tis time for a person to be rightfully renewed
So with these words, I say:
“ Down with all supremacy
Down with the electoral college
Down with the kkk
Down with the ones who preach hate
Down with the guns we have learned to so aim “
Time for new rights time to be humane
Time to rise like the phoenix
The eagle we use as our nations very symbol is now put to rest
Anew like the nation a phoenix the symbol
If Ireland can use a unicorn
we shall bear the bird who will rise from the flames anew and more powerful
We can't be perfect but we can try
If we teach love instead of hate
Compassion, mercy, and honor
But only together in this very hour can one turn into two and two turns into 332,915,073
If we all come together all, great and small
If we fight and  we hold each other up we stand a fighting chance
No, we can't take away all the hate and all the pain
But together we shall reign true to our words
We can become our best selves in a time of despair
We can mature and become something or someone new
Take look at the peaceful ways of the BLM movement
Take look at the 46th inauguration
Take look at the end of segregation
Take look at the end of such horrible events such as the holocaust
Take look at the pain humans have inflicted upon one another
Take look at the joy from one to another after the horrible things came to an end
Look at the hope brought back into the world again
We will be triumphant
If only we try
Oh if only we try
For it is not only my America but all of ours
We are a democracy, not a dictatorship
We look at freedom in the eye
And slowly we say:
“Maybe if we try
Maybe one day we can all live with the truth
And not a lie
Maybe one day my children will have a better chance than I did”
So now I say for the children who struggle daily
The kids who have nothing
The ones who fight to stay alive
I understand you
I am where you are
Things will get better
Kids are in just as deep as the rest of us, they shouldn’t be forgotten
Yes they may be smaller and less developed than adults
But witt, pain, and understanding are all still there
Like a fire that roars to life “we the people” should stand up and fight
Learn and grow
No one is innocent no one is perfect
We are ALL human
Yet we live in a world where such people can miss lead in so many ways
We live in a time of crisis
Yet science and facts were ignored
Instead of working on our #1 issue, they claimed our sacred tradition was rigged
Yes there will always be hate and resentment but there is a line
A line we won’t cross
A line that is ours to uphold and care for
For now, we run on Chaos and delusion
We use our lines of intrusion on other countries
We act as a “police” of sorts
We preach freedom and equality but we are built upon rape and killing our ancestors did
We continue to take land from natives
It's time to acknowledge the fact that we are all guilty
We must make amends
We are a big field of flowers diverse and beautiful but there are weeds
We are each a snowflake beautiful and our own but there are sharp shards of ice
Our earth is in pain we need to fix her
The pollution we brought
The plastic, the smoke, the oil we take without shame
It will be our legacy and our next generations shall know it was us who sullied their earth
I suppose I have drifted from America
America is important but we can do better
I see something anew in the word
Something that takes up all the nations together
No one is better than anyone no race is superior no sexuality is better
No person should hold more power over another
We do not rule each other
“We the people” need more of a say in our matters
For like a pack of wild dogs we chase our tails
We allow our leaders to deceive us
While we go about our day they drop bombs
We are creators of hate, misery, and despair
Change is evident and important
It flows like water cool and clear but get too deep and a current will catch you
You will drown
Change is not good nor bad it is what we make of it
Just like balance and peace
They are borne of chaos and deception
Siblings to all simple as the yin-yang
Truth and lies
America and its people
America is an idea
We are America
Fundamentals and ideals
America is Us
