Darkness Is Upon

Leonard 1963 (Denver)

Time has passed as the day mingles with the dusk
Darkness comes bringing the shadows
Shadow Fyres consuming my thoughts
Darker thoughts arise from the depths

Hiding within the Shadows of my Life
Plunging into the Abyss I pass the Demons
Demons that have risen from the depths
Rising from below my Demons bowing
Reverence Respect passes from one another

Slowly the fluid of life ebbs and waxes
The beat that has sustained one thru life
The flow rhythmic in purpose has run its course
An end in sight the Demons know time is close

Unwantingly a soul is reluctantly taken
Looking down seeing oneself there an empty shell
The walk thru life's byways has come complete circle
No one can know the hardships faced in adversity

Away to another reality unknown
Winding thru the abyss pulled as if by a force
Destination ahead unknown and yet
Hauntingly Familiar gliding closer and closer
Realization upon me the terror filled with
Awe peace tranquility settles upon my spirit
Compelling me forward not looking back

I go forth unafraid
I go

I have come home
Home where I belong

Dismay though the demons had me they lost

I'm home

I find comfort in the shadows

The darkness covers me like a blanket

Instead of warmth I feel only cold in the heat

In the place I call hell

Welcome to my HELL

My darkest thoughts dwell upon loss I am empty numb lost living inside my own hell Look inside these eyes and see the madness that dwells inside. You will come to know my own hell more…
