Face It

Marcus Powell 1980 (Memphis, Tennessee)

As the sun set and the moon's array flooded the sky
My heart begin to beat a little faster
I could hear the chilling wind against the window pane
I could sense the gloom in the air
I could see the night fall
And I heard no one there
There was a silence upon the face of the earth
It was like I was all alone
Like knocking on the door of a empty house no one's home
I could feel chills running up and down my back to my feet
There is nothing like the silence in between these empty sheets
I remember the times when you were there
Holding me close reassuring me you would always care
Now your gone I guess I have to face it
Forever doesn't last forever
