Fear from something that doesn’t exist

It haunts me.
Even though it is not real,
Even though it is gone,
It haunts me.

I am afraid
If I disobey I have expected harm
But if I stay I expect sorrow and confinement
I am afraid

It hurts
There are no wounds yet I still feel pain
Splatters of pain in my chest even though there is no mark
It hurts

I’m fine
There is no time for feeling these lies
I must continue forward
None of this is real
I’m fine.
