My Brother , My Twin

MY BROTHER , MY TWIN

Not sure on how to start this , while knowing how it ends
To share a story with you , about my twin and my best friend

The story is a battle , of life and how it brings
And as he struggled with it , through the very heavy things

His smile was so alluring , his thoughts were very deep
He liked to share them with me , I would think of them in sleep

And as I soon discovered , that things began to change
Somehow perceiving with him , how his temperament turned strange

We lived our lives together , like no other people knew
Because his birth was with me , in our Mother's womb we grew

Souls and minds with one accord , while fashioned before birth
Knowing now , to comprehend , as we walk the Creator's earth

Then demon's came to visit , and the struggle soon began
To inaugurate and separate , the division of our hand

Our thoughts that seemed familiar , were now becoming rare
The common things that bound us , were now so unaware

He'd leave me many hours , his voice becoming still
And thoughts would then invade me , did he take the bitter pill ?

Like trying to row a life raft , without having any arms
The wind and rain is tossing , and the thoughts began to harm ...

His mangled way of thinking , and things he said to me
Soon had me come to wonder , if he possibly was free …

From the torture of the demon , and the freedom's that were lost
Now in the sea of misery , try to save him , at all cost

And then the phone call came to me  , and sadly I did know
That I had lost my loved one , my bitterness did grow

But God was there , He spoke to me , and gently touched my heart
And helped me soon to comprehend , the mending quickly start ...

And time will heal the issues , that we begin to crave
As loved ones all around us , begin to visit graves

We need to stop and realize , as minds begin to bend
Because the Lord has promised us ,  that death is not the end

And as we slowly notice , that bliss is waiting for
To all of us , who have belief , it opens up the door ...

That soon we will discover , this place is not our home
And we are just a visitor , not always here to roam

So as we part , I'll leave you now , a thought of what began
That more than he , a special twin , was always my best friend

While sitting here and missing him , I know he's waiting for
The special time , we meet again , inside of Heaven's door .
