These Days

I'm confused by all the moments trapped inside my head
as I lay here contemplating this space inside my bed
I thought forever was a promise that meant we'd never part
now I see it's just a fairytale I held inside my heart.
If dreams could really happen I'd be laying in your nook
instead im writing chapters in this sad and lonely book
 I've painted all these pictures of what our lives could be
if only you were happy and your demon's set you free
I struggle every pen stroke to find the words that show I care
 as the ink tears blur my vision of all the time you were not there
