The End

Tiffany V Beeny 1984 (United States)

I met myself a woman
who changed my life one day
she came in like a shining star
and took my breath away..

I spoke to her for hours
about the life that I once had
the one that led me to a place
where I was drunk and sad..

I opened up some wounds
that I had never healed
looking for solutions
of pain that I had sealed..

One day I got this feeling
I never felt before
free from all the burdens
my heart no longer sore..

I felt that God had placed you
beside me through this time
before I ever knew myself
I saw our life incline..

I was living new beginnings
with a woman not a man
something that I'd never thought
would go hand in hand..

I adapt to new surroundings
24 hours at a time
as I learn a program for my life
and gain a healthy mind..

Off to new adventures
with a love that shines so bright
To hold a hand
to get a kiss
to sleep as one at night..

I let down all my guards
first time in many years
this would be my weakness
the cause of all my tears..

A door that once was open
now closed forever more
In that very moment
my heart fell to the floor..

When you spoke to me the reason
I no longer had your heart
I took a breath and brace myself
for now my tears will start..

You told me a relationship
was more then you had thought
many times you ask yourself
is now the time to stop..

I tried to answer all your questions
as the tears ran down my face
every fear I could imagine
has now led me to this place..

Now the questions stands
could we be just friends
the answer not so easy
with a love that did not end..

I thought we had tomorrow
like many times before
this time is so much different
with pain I can't ignore..

We've grown through many moments
trials and some tears
we almost made it to a time
we would celebrate one year..

As I look to the rebuilding
of a life that changed that day
I see a rainbow in the sky
as my tears were swept away..

I am a different person
than I was before we met
for now I know just where I stand
In a life with no regret..

I have overcome some obstacles
that almost took my life
a pain so great inside my heart
that cut me like a knife..

I have a new employer
with God I see a light
one that shines so bright and free
where life is not a fight..
