Earth's Last Breath

O’ lonely stone, lying there;
Once a mountain you did wear;
People went to stop and stare,
But now your earth is cold and bare.

O’ mighty oak, so tall and grim;
Did they go to chop and trim?
And turn you soft and cut you slim,
Until there stands a mound of limb?

O’ reckless rapids, whirling fast;
We all know you were harassed;
If you stop, we raise the mast!
Take a moment, let time pass;

And last of all, the bitter breeze;
Called out to skylines, moaning please;
Quarried, rotting, and disease;
Nature died with one last wheeze.
