Just Be You
Mr. Issac M. Loven Sr. 1981 (Daytona)
Something told me one day that my life would become clear,
That I just won’t have to listen to what everyone else hears,
Or my eyes will see the things that no one else could even dream,
Or my mouth will flow with words that glide out gently as a stream,
But maybe one day everything will soon change from the dark,
And everyone will have all the evil removed from their spark,
That spark inside their heart and mind that tells them love is dead,
So they too can be clear of complications in their head,
But nothing has prepared us for this path that we must follow,
Or times when we say things we want to take back and just swallow,
Now everything we do might not agree with what we need,
Cause sometimes we get over confident with too much greed,
We get blinded by temptation cause we think it’s gonna last,
Then suddenly one day it jumps and bites you in the ass,
Cause everything you ever wished in life you have in reach,
And forgot about the better life some people tried to preach,
So when time is right and day is clear and finally that vacation,
That’s when you can sit back and enjoy some peace and relaxation,
Receive the things that matter and forget about the rest,
Then strive for excellence and tell yourself that you’re the best,
Let no one tell you other wise or think you’re gonna fail,
And always keep in mind that your life is not for sale,
So trust your heart, don’t hold it in, go show the world you’re true,
But most of all over everything to remember, Just be you!
