The light that falls

Jade Monty O'Neill 1969 (Pretoria)

All dreams and aspirations, not set in the dark with the promise
that brightness would bring. Those shadowy colds that drove us to
aspire, to the beautiful songs we could sing.
In the catalogue of thoughts, some day to be brought to the table
of reason and truth. Those glimpses of lies to hide all our cries
only practiced in ignorance and youth.

The shadows that precede us with our backs to the sun as we walk
to that uncertain place, or the shadow that trails to balance our
scales, as we turn to the light to embrace.
The needles and pins, like water thins in the face of the great
unanswered question. That our purpose on earth was not the
rebirth but the promise that lay in its suggestion.

Can we ask of ourselves the question that delves in the realm of
religion and purity. Or the giving of love, all we have to arm
ourselves, as we traverse our endless insecurity.
I have never arrived and always have strived to impress and win
all the favour, but only her love could help me to thrive and
finally has been my true savior
