Away From You

Maxie 1984 (Rizal)

Looking at the mountainside
I got all mushy and misty-eyed;
My ride is moving opposite your direction,
Moving away from your love & affection.

I've been very firm with my decision
But as the bus drove away, I felt hesitation;
Confusion is starting to envelope me,
As I took the first step of my uncertain journey.

Most parts of me know that I should move along
But some little parts are broken and I feel so alone;
Part of me wanted to run back to your side,
I'm really confused.... which decision should I abide?

I wanna go back to the safety of your arms
I kept picturing your smile & irresistible charms;
We've just parted, barely minutes ago,
But it seems as if, I can't keep up w/ the show.

My heart starts to feel this heavy load
Without you by my side, I feel so cold;
I know I have to take this huge risk,
But how I hope, I didn't have to do this.

I will miss you, you're such a huge part of me
But I have to stay strong and continue my journey;
Days ahead will be so lonely without you,
But I'll have to brave it cause this is something I have to do.

I will miss u. I will miss us.

Maxie

Mom of 3. Poetry is my first love and have written a lot back when I was in high school... and then, life happens. Ideas and rhymes dried up. But the other day I was going through old stuff and found my collections of poems that I've written back in the day. Hoping to share an immortalize them especially for my kids. So that they'll know mommy was really cool once :D more…
