Forgiveness

You say that I´m forgiven,
And yet, I see each day;
Your glance across the room,
Eyes squinting, thoughts to say.

Now Christ told Peter this,
To forgive, this side of Heaven;
Peter´s thought, just seven times,
Said Christ, "Seventy times seven."

Is it true forgiveness,
The tally, to keep score;
Not exceed four hundred ninety,
Before kicking to the floor?

Be careful to examine,
And reaching for that stone;
The log that´s in your own eye,
The demise, may be your own!
