Death Translation: Razia Sultana

Rozen Hasan 1994 (sylhet)

Night after night I stayed awake
The thought of the symptoms of gravely death
Kept me occupied
For
years
Days and nights. One day
I realized
Death is merely a thought
Tireless, gradually spreads its many layers
Like cancer
For many years I thought
Like the light that stays awake in the cloud
Life is nothing but a philosophy to death,
A glorifying effect of upheavals
Yet illusory and demonic
Like the mountains in my dream yesterday
Preying on clouds
Meaningless.
